Regular Season Round 44: Niigata A. - Hitachi SRT 73-95
Date: March 21, 2021
Very predictable result when fifth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (28-17) smashed on the road 10th ranked Niigata A. (12-32) 95-73 on Sunday. Hitachi Sunrockers made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) who added 24 points during the contest. Four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (213-90, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and American-North Macedonian power forward Richard Hendrix (203-86, college: Alabama) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hitachi Sunrockers have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Osaka E. Niigata A. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 32 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face Hokkaido L. (#9) in Saporro in the next round where they are favorite. Niigata A. will play on the road against the league's second-placed Chiba J. and hope to win that game.
