Regular Season Round 9: Okayama - Toyoda Gosei 106-91

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Toyoda Gosei (13-3) on the court of third ranked Okayama on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Okayama 106-91. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Toyoda Gosei. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Toyoda Gosei 45-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: FAU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and Nigerian forward Chukwudiebere Maduabum (206-91) chipped in 15 points and 10 rebounds. Okayama's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American center CJ Gettys (213-94, college: Rutgers, agency: Haylett Sports) with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 20 rebounds and point guard Eiji Sumihiro (171-89) scored 18 points. Four Toyoda Gosei players scored in double figures. Okayama (13-5) have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Toyoda Gosei at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Okayama will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toyoda Gosei will play on the road against Tokyo EX and is hoping to win this game.
