Regular Season Round 9: Aisin AW - Shizuoka 105-99

Everything could happen in Aichi at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Aisin AW and 5th ranked Shizuoka had identical 10-5 record. This time Aisin AW used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Shizuoka 105-99 on Sunday night. Shizuoka was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. American Kyle Richardson (200-91, college: Portland St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds for the winners and point guard Yuki Ishihara (180-91) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Novar Gadson (201-89, college: Rider) with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and Beninese power forward Muusa Dama (207-96, college: EIU, agency: Blacktop Management) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Five Aisin AW and four Shizuoka players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Aisin AW. They maintain fourth place with 11-5 record. Loser Shizuoka dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Aisin AW will face Kagoshima (#10) in Renova in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Shizuoka will play at home against Iwate (#3) and hope to win that game.
