Second Stage Round 8: Kazygurt - Irtysh 67-81

The biggest surprise of round 8 was guest Irtysh's (12-10) road victory over one of their biggest challengers Kazygurt (11-11) 81-67 on Friday evening. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Oksana Ossipenko (186-85) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Yekaterina Beschastnova (173-3) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Four Irtysh players scored in double figures. The former international guard Tamara Yagodkina (181-90) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Irina Ganieva (176-99) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Irtysh moved-up to third place. Kazygurt at the other side dropped to the fourth position with 11 games lost. Irtysh are looking forward to face league's second-placed Turan in Turkistan in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kazygurt will play at home against the league's leader Kaspiy Aktau and is hoping to win this game.
