Sixth ranked Astana Tigers (9-12) crushed at home 8th ranked Okzhetpes (1-20) by 47 points 89-42, which is the biggest margin this round. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Okzhetpes. Astana Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Okzhetpes' 36. Astana Tigers forced 25 Okzhetpes turnovers and outrebounded them 43-23 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Astana Tigers players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Daria Koroleva (180-88) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. The former international forward Rauan Tutkishova (178-91) contributed with 18 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Astana Tigers players scored in double figures. Power forward Nadezhda Yakovleva (183-3) answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Zoya Budai (167-3) added 7 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Okzhetpes. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains sixth place with 9-12 record. Okzhetpes at the other side stay dead last with 20 lost games. Astana Tigers' next round opponent will be Karaganda (#7) on the road. Okzhetpes will play against MBJSM in Almaty and hope to win that game.
