Regular Season Round 8: Saitama - Toyoda Gosei 59-102

B3 League top team - Toyoda Gosei (12-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Saitama (0-13) 102-59. Toyoda Gosei dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Saitama's 38. They outrebounded Saitama 50-28 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Toyoda Gosei players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Saitama's players. Worth to mention a quality performance of American center CJ Gettys (213-94, college: Rutgers, agency: Haylett Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 18 rebounds and 5 assists (on 17-of-22 shooting from the field) and the other American import Patrick Simon (203-92, college: Seattle Pacific) who added 15 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Four Toyoda Gosei players scored in double figures. Swingman Eric McArthur (192-96) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and guard Tomoya Hata (188-96) scored 14 points. Saitama's coach already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Toyoda Gosei have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-2 record. Saitama at the other side still closes the standings with 13 games lost. Toyoda Gosei will play against Okayama (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Saitama will play against Gifu (#7) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
