Regular Season Round 41: Kawasaki BT - Niigata A. 81-77

Very predictable result in Kanagawa where third ranked Toshiba Thunders (29-13) defeated 9th ranked Niigata A. (12-29) 81-77 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Toshiba Thunders looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Spanish Pablo Aguilar (203-89) chipped in 4 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-93, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and American-North Macedonian power forward Richard Hendrix (203-86, college: Alabama) scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Niigata A. players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Defending champion maintains third place with 29-13 record behind leader Tochigi B. Loser Niigata A. dropped to the eighth position with 29 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face again Niigata A. (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
