Regular Season Round 27: Zob Ahan - Kouchin 79-73

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Esfahan. Third ranked Zob Ahan faced 4th placed Kouchin. Host Zob Ahan (10-4) defeated guests from Amol (7-7) 79-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kouchin. Zob Ahan forced 20 Kouchin turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for the former international point guard Sajjad Mashayekhi (180-94) who led the winners and scored 13 points and 8 assists. Serbian Sava Lesic (205-88) accounted for 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Four Zob Ahan players scored in double figures. The former international Matin Aghajanpoor (199-1) came up with 23 points and 7 rebounds and Jalal Aghamiri added 16 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Kouchin in the defeat. Kouchin's coach M Noori tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Zob Ahan have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Naft Abadan. Newly promoted Kouchin keeps the fourth position with seven games lost.
