The game in Yokohama supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Toshiba Thunders (28-12) played at the court of 8th ranked Yokohama BC (13-26). Toshiba Thunders smashed Yokohama BC 92-65 on Saturday. Toshiba Thunders looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Uruguayan power forward Mathias Calfani (204-92, agency: Pro Sports) notched 8 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the former international swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-89) supported him with 19 points. Four Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds by American forward Robert Carter (206-94, college: Maryland) did not help to save the game for Yokohama BC. Masaaki Morikawa (190-92) added 19 points for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toshiba Thunders have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 28-12 record having just one point less than leader Tochigi B. Loser Yokohama BC keeps the eighth place with 26 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Yokohama BC will play again against Toshiba Thunders (#3) and hope to secure a win.
