Regular Season Round 6: Tokyo EX - Iwate 66-90

B3 League top team - Iwate (10-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Tokyo EX (4-3) 90-66. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Tokyo EX. Iwate dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo EX's 36. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American forward Chris Olivier (202-92, college: OK State) notched 26 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and Canadian forward Erik Nissen (206-95, college: Acadia) supported him with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) by Maltese center Samuel Deguara (225-91) did not help to save the game for Tokyo EX. American forward Terrance King (198-90, college: ESU) added 12 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Iwate maintains first position with 10-2 record, which they share with Toyoda Gosei. Tokyo EX at the other side keeps the seventh place with three games lost. Iwate will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tokyo EX will play at home against Gifu (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
