Not a big story in a game in Aichi where 8th ranked Kanazawa (3-7) was rolled over by second ranked Toyoda Gosei (10-2) 108-75 on Sunday. Toyoda Gosei dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Kanazawa's 42 and made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game, while Kanazawa only scored 0 point from the stripe. They outrebounded Kanazawa 47-22 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Toyoda Gosei looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. American center CJ Gettys (213-94, college: Rutgers, agency: Haylett Sports) had a double-double by scoring 27 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American-Irish forward Brian Voelkel (196-92, college: Vermont) chipped in 13 points, 18 rebounds and 13 assists during the contest. Five Toyoda Gosei players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Kohei Takahashi (197-96) with 26 points and point guard Daichi Tomioka (165-95) scored 14 points and 9 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Toyoda Gosei used an opportunity after Iwate lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Kanazawa lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with seven games lost. Toyoda Gosei will have a break next round. Kanazawa will play at home against Saitama (#11) and hope to win that game.
