Second Stage Round 1: Astana Tigers - Okzhetpes 68-46

Rather expected game when Okzhetpes were crushed on the road by Astana Tigers 68-46 on Monday. Astana Tigers forced 24 Okzhetpes turnovers and outrebounded them 48-33 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Swingman Daria Koroleva (180-88) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. The former international forward Rauan Tutkishova (178-91) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Nadezhda Yakovleva (183-3) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Zoya Budai (167-3) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Astana Tigers will meet at home Karaganda in the next round. Okzhetpes will play against MBJSM in Almaty and hope to win that game.
