Regular Season Round 37: Chiba J. - Shinshu BW 99-67

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Chiba J. (29-9) outscored at home 6th ranked Shinshu BW (13-24) 99-67 on Sunday. Chiba J. dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Shinshu BW's 24. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Chiba J. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American power forward Josh Duncan (203-86) stepped up and scored 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and the former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. Four Chiba J. players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) responded with 20 points and the other American import forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: WSU, agency: Wasserman) scored 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Chiba J. maintains second place with 29-9 record having just one victory less than leader Tochigi B. Newly promoted Shinshu BW dropped to the fifth position with 24 games lost. Chiba J. will face Toshiba Thunders (#3) in Kanagawa in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Shinshu BW will play at home against Shiga L-Stars and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
