Regular Season Round 15: Niigata R. - Eneos S. 57-75

WJBL top team - Eneos S. (11-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they beat sixth ranked Niigata R. (0-11) in Tokyo 75-57. Eneos S. had a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a quality performance for the former international power forward Yunika Nakamura (178-95) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Yuki Miyazawa (183-93, college: Queens, NY) accounted for 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Four Eneos S. players scored in double figures. Center Raw Yoshinro (187-95) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and forward Naomi Kitagawa (174-94) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Niigata R. in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Eneos S.. Defending champion maintains first place in East with 11-0 record. Niigata R. lost their eleventh game in a row. They still close the standings with 11 games lost. Eneos S. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Niigata R. will play again against the league's leader Eneos S. (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
