Regular Season Round 37: Koshigaya A. - Fukushima 75-89

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Koshigaya A. (23-12) against sixth ranked Fukushima (17-18) on Sunday night. Host Koshigaya A. was defeated by Fukushima in Tokyo 89-75. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Koshigaya A.. Fukushima players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Koshigaya A.'s players. Worth to mention a great performance of Finnish-American power forward Erik Murphy (208-90, college: Florida) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Shota Kanno (187-92) contributed with 23 points and 9 assists for the winners. American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: App State) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St., agency: SDJ Sports) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Koshigaya A.Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fukushima maintains sixth place with 17-18 record. Koshigaya A. at the other side keeps the third position with 12 games lost. Fukushima will play against Orange Vikings (#7) in Matsuyama in the next round. Koshigaya A.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena Tokyo Z.
