Not a big story in a game in Tokyo where 5th ranked Fukushima (16-18) was defeated by third ranked Koshigaya A. (23-11) 98-94 on Saturday. Koshigaya A. made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: App State) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and American guard Charles Hinkle (198-88, college: American) who added 27 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) during the contest. The best for the losing side was Finnish-American power forward Erik Murphy (208-90, college: Florida) with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: CPP) scored 18 points and 7 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Koshigaya A. have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 23-11 record having just two point less than leader Gunma. Loser Fukushima dropped to the sixth place with 18 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
