Regular Season Round 34: Sendai 89ers - Koshigaya A. 89-101

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Sendai. Third ranked Koshigaya A. faced one of their biggest challengers Sendai 89ers. Guests from Tokyo (21-11) defeated host Sendai 89ers (20-14) 101-89. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sendai 89ers. Koshigaya A. shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 63.0 percentage. American guard Charles Hinkle (198-88, college: American) scored 25 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Shunki Hatakeyama (170-91) chipped in 24 points and 5 steals during the contest. Five Koshigaya A. players scored in double figures. At the losing side American swingman LeBryan Nash (201-92, college: OK State) responded with 25 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import Eric Jacobsen (208-94, college: ASU) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Koshigaya A. maintains third position with 21-11 record having thirteen points less than leader Saga B. Loser Sendai 89ers keep the fourth place with 14 games lost. Koshigaya A. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sendai 89ers will play again against Koshigaya A. (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
