Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Shiga L-Stars (10-20) were outscored by second ranked Ryukyu GK (21-9) in Okinawa 84-52 on Wednesday. Ryukyu GK made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for American power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import forward Dwayne Evans (201-92, college: St.Louis, agency: Wasserman) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) replied with 5 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Masaya Karimata (178-88) added 12 points in the effort for Shiga L-Stars. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Ryukyu GK maintains second position with 21-9 record behind leader Tochigi B., which they share with Hitachi SRT. Shiga L-Stars lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 20 games lost. Ryukyu GK will face San-en NeoPhoenix (#9) in Hamamatsu in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shiga L-Stars will play on the road against Shinshu BW in Nagano and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
