Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Osaka E. (15-13) beat on the road 9th ranked Niigata A. (9-19) 91-81 on Saturday. Osaka E. looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard DJ Newbill (193-92, college: Penn St.) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) who added 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Five Osaka E. players scored in double figures. At the losing side Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-93, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and American-North Macedonian power forward Richard Hendrix (203-86, college: Alabama) scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. Niigata A.'s coach Shogo Fukuda let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Osaka E. maintains fourth position with 15-13 record. Loser Niigata A. dropped to the seventh place with 19 games lost. Osaka E. will have a break next round. Niigata A. will play again at home against Osaka E. (#4) and hope to win that game.
