Another interesting game was also this time a derby match between teams from Tehran: Chemidor (#2) and Ayandeh Sazan (#8). Chemidor (8-1) smashed visiting Ayandeh Sazan (0-9) by 37 points 108-71. Chemidor dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Ayandeh Sazan's 30. Chemidor forced 20 Ayandeh Sazan turnovers and outrebounded them 46-20 including a 19-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Chemidor players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Ayandeh Sazan's players. The former international Arsalan Kazemi (200-90, college: Oregon) fired a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Serbian Nikola Popovic (211-97, college: Boston Coll.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. M Morshedi produced 10 points and Mohammadamin Sedaghatgir added 12 points respectively for lost side. Five Chemidor and four Ayandeh Sazan players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Chemidor maintains second position with 8-1 record behind leader Mahram. Newly promoted Ayandeh Sazan still closes the standings with nine games lost.
