Regular Season Round 16: Al-Hashd - Al Naft 81-97

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Baghdad: Al Naft (#1) and Al-Hashd (#3). Al-Hashd was smashed at home by 16 points 81-97 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Al Naft held Al-Hashd to an opponent 0.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 0.0 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Al-Hashd 49-37 including a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Kevin Galloway (200-88, college: Texas Southern) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. The former international center Ihab Al-Zuhairi (209-98) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Gregoryshon Magee (211-90, college: USA) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Ahmed Al-Jashaami (171-92) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists in the effort for Al-Hashd. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Al Naft (10-0) have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 10 victories in a row, which they share with Al Shorta. Newly promoted Al-Hashd keeps the third place with two games lost. Al Naft will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Al-Hashd's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Baghdad Al-Khtot.
