The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Doha: Al Gharafa (#1) and Al Shamal (#3). Al Gharafa (10-1) smashed visiting Al Shamal (8-4) by 20 points 78-58. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Al Shamal. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Tyler Harris (208-93, college: Auburn) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import guard Franklin Session II (187-89, college: CS Los Angeles) who added 20 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Harris is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was Georgian Mikhail Berishvili (204-87) with 22 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Fadi Abilmona (178-86) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Al Gharafa have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-1 record. Defending champion Al Shamal dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. Al Gharafa are looking forward to face Al Wakrah (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Al Shamal will have a break next round.
