A very close game took place in Busan between KT Sonicboom and Samsung Th.. Seventh ranked KT Sonicboom (15-14) got a very close home victory over 6th ranked Samsung Th. (15-16). KT Sonicboom managed to escape with a 2-point win 76-74 in the fight for the sixth place. KT Sonicboom looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American Brandon Brown (201-85, college: CSUSB) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international forward Hongseok Yang (199-97) helped adding 25 points and 11 rebounds. Brown is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was American center Isaiah Hicks (206-94, college: UNC) with 16 points and 9 rebounds and the former international center Jun-Yl Kim (202-92) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Four Samsung Th. players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. KT Sonicboom moved-up to sixth place. Loser Samsung Th. dropped to the seventh position with 16 games lost. KT Sonicboom will meet higher ranked ET Land (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Samsung Th. will play against Mobis Phoebus and hope to secure a win.
