Regular Season Round 27: SK Knights - Samsung Th. 80-89

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Seoul: Samsung Th. (#6) and SK Knights (#8). SK Knights were defeated at home 80-89 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Samsung Th. players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American center Isaiah Hicks (206-94, college: UNC) who led the winners and scored 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Dong-Uk Kim (194-81) accounted for 15 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Five Samsung Th. players scored in double figures. American center Jameel Warney (203-94, college: Stony Brook) came up with 26 points and 9 rebounds and guard Won-Choi Sung (186-95) added 12 points and 6 assists respectively for SK Knights in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Samsung Th. went down to seventh position due to points difference. Defending champion SK Knights keep the eighth place with 18 games lost. Samsung Th.'s next round opponent will be higher ranked Mobis Phoebus (#3) in Ulsan and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SK Knights will play at home against DB Promy (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
