Regular Season Round 12: Al Naft - Al Kahraba 104-79

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Baghdad: Al Naft (#1) and Al Kahraba (#4). Al Naft (8-0) smashed visiting Al Kahraba (6-2) by 25 points 104-79. It was a good game for the former international center Ihab Al-Zuhairi (209-98) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Ali Ismael (199-94) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Al Naft's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Aaron Mitchell (188-89, college: Longwood) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and Zeyad Nayyef added 15 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Al Kahraba. Four Al Naft and five Al Kahraba players scored in double figures. Al Naft have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 8-0 record, which they share with Al Shorta and Al-Hashd. Al Kahraba at the other side keeps the fourth place with two games lost.
