Regular Season Round 28: Aomori W. - Fukuoka R. 84-80

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Rizing (16-12) against eighth ranked Aomori W. (4-22) on Sunday night. Visiting Rizing was defeated by Aomori W. in a tough game in Aomori 80-84. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Rizing. Aomori W. made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Rizing 41-28 including a 32-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Aomori W. players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Rizing was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Joshua Crawford (211-88, college: Indiana St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 19 rebounds and 6 assists. Point guard Yuichi Ikeda (183-97) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners. American power forward Gerald Beverly (202-93, college: Daemen) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and his fellow American import forward Jordan Glynn (200-89, college: SF Austin) added 18 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals in the effort for Rizing. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Aomori W. moved-up to seventh place. Rizing at the other side keeps the second position with 12 games lost. They share it with FE Nagoya. Aomori W. will play against higher ranked Nishinomiya S. (#5) in Hyogo in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Rizing will play at home against Sendai 89ers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
