Regular Season Round 27: Ibaraki R. - Kagawa FA 95-93

Sixth-ranked Kagawa FA (12-15) gave a tough game to second ranked Ibaraki R. (19-8) in Mito on Saturday. Ibaraki R. managed to secure only two-point victory 95-93. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kagawa FA. Ibaraki R. made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!). Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) helped adding 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Ibaraki R. players scored in double figures. Ibaraki R.'s coach Richard Glesmann used entire bench in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) with 32 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (went 18 for 18 at the free throw line !!!) and the other American import forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Ibaraki R. have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 19-8 record having six points less than leader Saga B. Kagawa FA at the other side keeps the sixth position with 15 games lost. Ibaraki R. are again looking forward to face Kagawa FA (#6) in Takamatsu in the next round. Kagawa FA will have a break next round.
