Regular Season Round 25: Shiga L-Stars - Hokkaido L. 80-77

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Shiga L-Stars (10-15) edged at home 10th ranked Hokkaido L. (5-20) 80-77 on Sunday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Shiga L-Stars looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) stepped up and scored 27 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Australian center Angus Brandt (208-89, college: Oregon St.) chipped in 9 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side American forward Nick Mayo (206-97, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 24 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import point guard Jordan Taylor (187-89, college: Wisconsin, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 18 points and 7 assists. Hokkaido L.'s coach Yuta Miyanaga tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Shiga L-Stars moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Shinshu BW. Loser Hokkaido L. dropped to the ninth position with 20 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will face Yokohama BC (#8) on the road in the next round. Hokkaido L. will play against Shinshu BW and hope to win that game.
