The most exciting game of round 19 in the Premier League took place in . This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Al-Nweidrat (12-6) to eighth ranked Al-Riffa (10-7) 86-84 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Al-Nweidrat. Al-Riffa dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Al-Nweidrat's 32. Al-Riffa forced 22 Al-Nweidrat turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Al-Nweidrat helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American-New Zealand forward Marcel Jones (203-85, college: Oregon St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 22 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international center Abdulrahman Ghali (197-88) contributed with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Bosnian-Serbian center Mile Ilic (215-84) answered with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 21 rebounds for Al-Nweidrat. Al-Riffa moved-up to seventh place. Al-Nweidrat at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Al-Riffa are looking forward to face Hidd (#12) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Al-Nweidrat will play against Al-Bahrain (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
An interesting game for Al-Muharraq (13-4) which played road game in Manama against their biggest opponent Al-Ahli (14-4). Third ranked Al-Muharraq managed to get a 11-point victory 69-58. It was a great evening for American center Jordan Richard (206-89, college: CS Los Angeles, agency: Slash Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Bader Abdulla helped adding 22 points and 4 assists. Al-Muharraq's coach Ivan Jeremic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side the former international forward Hesham Sarhan (-92) responded with 20 points. Al-Muharraq maintains third place with 13-4 record having just one point less than leader Al-Manama. Al-Ahli at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. Al-Muharraq will play against Isa Town (#11) in Issa Town in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al-Ahli's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Manama Al-Ittihad.

Bottom-ranked Samaheej is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 18th consecutive match to ninth ranked Al-Bahrain (6-12) 103-72. Merrill Holden fired a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds (on 17-of-20 shooting from the field) for the winners. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Al-Bahrain maintains ninth place with 6-12 record. Samaheej lost their eighteenth game in a row. They still close the standings. Al-Bahrain's next round opponent will be higher ranked Al-Nweidrat (#5) in Nuwaidrat and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

In the last two games of round 19 Hidd was beaten by Sitra on the road 84-73. Al-Najma destroyed Isa Town on its own court 115-86.

Al-Ittihad - Al-Manama 78-96

Premier League top team - Al-Manama (15-1) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they beat seventh ranked Al-Ittihad (10-8) 96-78. Al-Manama dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Al-Ittihad's 40. They outrebounded Al-Ittihad 46-27 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Al-Manama looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Al-Ittihad's players. It was a quality performance for American Wayne Chism (206-87, college: Tennessee) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists. International forward Hassan Nawrooz accounted for 18 points for the winning side. Al-Manama's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Antwan Wilkerson (201-91, college: Johnson C. Smith) came up with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 12 rebounds and Ali Ghadeer added 13 points and 5 assists respectively for Al-Ittihad in the defeat.
