The Regular Season in Premier League just started. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team, derby games and favorites losing the games.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Hidd (0-1) in Manama on Thursday night. Visitors were rolled over by Al-Najma (1-0) 99-74. Al-Najma outrebounded Hidd 62-50 including 20 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Hidd's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Haminn Quantance who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 26 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Abbas Jawadi (178-90) contributed with 25 points and 4 assists for the winners. Hussain Lulu answered with 32 points and 7 rebounds for Hidd. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al-Najma is looking forward to face Al-Bahrain (#9) in Manama in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hidd will play on the road against Al-Ahli in Manama and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another exciting game for Al-Hala (1-0) which played in Manama against Al-Ahli (0-1). Al-Hala upset home team edging them after exciting game by two points 82-80. Al-Ahli was very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. American-Lebanese center Loren Woods (218-78, college: Arizona) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 20 rebounds (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and Hasan Gerashi chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side American forward Quinton Doggett (206-90, college: Southern) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Al-Hala will play against Samaheej (#13) in Manama in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Al-Ahli will play at home against Hidd (#11) to get more than just one victory in their record.
Very important is a home loss of Al-Bahrain (0-1) against Al-Riffa (1-0) on Wednesday night. Host Al-Bahrain was defeated by Al-Riffa in Manama 65-50. Calvin Godfrey nailed a double-double by scoring 25 points, 16 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winning side. Sidy Sall came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 23 rebounds for Al-Bahrain in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Al-Riffa will meet at home Al-Muharraq (#4) in the next round. Al-Bahrain's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Manama Al-Najma.
The game between Isa Town (0-1) and Al-Manama (1-0) in Issa Town ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Manama outscored Isa Town 104-53. Mohammed Qurban fired a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Al-Manama will have a break next round. Isa Town will play on the road against Al-Nweidrat (#10) in Nuwaidrat and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Manama: Al-Ittihad (#4) and Samaheej (#12). Samaheej was crushed at home by 34 points 56-90. It was a very good performance for Antwan Wilkerson who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists.
