Premier League round 5 most important game was a victory of Al Muharraq over second-ranked Al Ahli 93-78 on Tuesday night. It was a key game for the second position in League. The game was mostly controlled by Al Muharraq. Al Ahli managed to win second period 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Al Muharraq (4-1) moved-up to second place in League. Al Ahli at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
An interesting game for Al Manama (5-0) which hosted in Manama 4th placed Nuwaidrat (1-4). Leader Al Manama had an easy win 96-64. Defending champion maintains first place in League with 5-0 record. Nuwaidrat at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Bottom-ranked Al Najma is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to fifth ranked Al Hala (2-3) 94-73 on Wednesday evening. Al Hala moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Al Najma still closes the standings with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Bottom-ranked Issa Town is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their second consecutive match to ninth ranked Al Ittihad (2-1) 71-62. Newly promoted Al Ittihad maintains ninth place in League with 2-1 record. Issa Town at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with two games lost. Al Ittihad will have a break next round. Issa Town will play on the road against Samaheej (#11) in Manama and hopes to get finally their first victory.
Leader Al Bahrain blasted bottom-ranked Samaheej (0-3) in Manama 122-74 on Monday evening keeping the perfect record after 5 rounds. Samaheej is still unable to win any game. Al Bahrain maintains eighth place in League with 2-0 record. Newly promoted Samaheej still closes the standings with three games lost. Al Bahrain will face higher ranked Sitra (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Samaheej will play against Issa Town (#10) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
