Premier League Round 11: Al Manama beats Al Ahli by one after a very close game - Dec 22, 2016

What a coincidence that all visitors won their games.

The most exciting game of round 11 in the Premier League took place in Manama. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th placed Al Ahli (7-3) to leader Al Manama (10-0) 72-71 on Wednesday evening. Undefeated Al Manama have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 10-0 record. Al Ahli at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Manama: Al Najma (#6) and Al Ittihad (#8). Al Ittihad was defeated at home 80-89 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Al Najma maintains sixth place with 5-5 record. Newly promoted Al Ittihad keeps the eighth position with seven games lost.
The game in Issa Town was also quite interesting. Third ranked Nuwaidrat (8-2) played at the court of 7th ranked Issa Town (4-6). Nuwaidrat managed to secure a 8-point victory 79-71 on Tuesday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Issa Town. The victory was the third consecutive win for Nuwaidrat. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Al Hala. Newly promoted Issa Town keeps the seventh position with six games lost.
The game between 10th ranked Samaheej (1-9) and fifth ranked Al Muharraq (6-4) in Manama ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Al Muharraq outscored Samaheej 94-60. Al Muharraq maintains fifth place with 6-4 record. Newly promoted Samaheej dropped to the bottom position with nine games lost.

In the last game of round 11 Sitra smashed Al Bahrain on the road 79-54.

Al Ahli - Al Manama 71-72

Everything could happen in Manama at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Sitra and 9th ranked Al Bahrain had identical 1-8 record. But Al Bahrain was not able to use a home court advantage and was crushed by the opponent from Sitra 79-54. Sitra (2-8) moved-up to ninth place. Al Bahrain lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost.
