Augustine
Okosun
Sitra Club (Premier League) brought back 30-year old American (has also Nigerian passport) center Augustine Okosun (210-109kg-86, college: Kaiser) after he started the season with the team and got released due injury. he replaces Haminn Quaintance who didn't perform well with the team same what he did with Al Najma 2 seasons ago.
The previous (14-15) season Okosun played at Somouha (Superleague) in Egypt. It was a very successful season in his career as he was selected to Afrobasket.com All-Egyptian Superleague Honorable Mention.
In 2009 Okosun was drafted by Austin Toros (D-League) in seventh round (102th overall).
He attended Kaiser University (NAIA) and it is his eighth season in pro basketball.
Okosun received All-WCBL 1st Team award back in 2010.
He is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball Okosun experienced life in eight different countries playing on five different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian, Latin American, African and of course North American leagues. Okosun has played previously professionally in China, Dominican Rep., Qatar (Al Ahli), Romania (Gaz Metan), Spain, Dominican Republic (Dosa, Pueblo Nuevo, Reales de La Vega and Juan Pablo Duarte), D-League (Austin Spurs) and IBL (Santa Barbara B. and Santa Monica J.).
Let's have closer look into His outlook: A strong defensive player and rebounder who has great length and will protect the basket. A good mobile shot-blocker who can defend multiple positions, 3-4-5. Augustine can score in the post and is a strong finisher. He sets great screens and is effective on the pick and roll, as he goes hard to the basket and will finish strongly. Augustine is an athletic big who runs the floor extremely well.
