Ambres
Al Najma (Premier League) inked 32-year old American swingman Mildon Ambres (198-97kg-84, college: S.Nazarene). He played most recently at Al Shamal in Qatari D1 league. In 9 games he averaged impressive 22.0ppg, 9.8rpg, 2.4apg, 1.6spg and 1.0bpg last season. Ambres helped them to make it to the Qatari Cup Semifinals. He also played that season for Al Gezira (Superleague) in Egypt.
In 2008 (a year after he left the college) Ambres was drafted by Idaho Stampede (D-League) in fifth round (67th overall).
He attended Southern Nazarene University (NCAA Div.II) until 2007 and it will be his tenth season in pro basketball.
Among other achievements Ambres' college team won SAC Tournament in 2007. He received also USBasket.com All-D-League Most Improved Player of the Year award back in 2010.
Ambres is a very experienced player. He has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to eight different countries on four different continents (Europe, Latin America, Africa and of course North America). Ambres has played previously professionally in Dominican Rep., Philippines, Romania (CSU Sibiu), Spain (Lleida Basquet), Uruguay (Nacional), D-League (Salt Lake City Stars), Dominican Republic (CDP Domingo Paulino Santiago) and Egypt (Geish Army).

Samaheej (Premier League) signed American forward Janarius Middleton (203-101kg). He just graduated from Jackson State University (NCAA). Middleton has played there for the last four years. In 32 games he had 7.0ppg, 8.1rpg and 1.2apg last season. As mentioned above he is just out of the college and it will be his first season as a pro. Al-Najma (Premier League) landed 32-year old American forward Haminn Quaintance (203-85, college: Kent State). It is actually his comeback to Manama as he has played here before. Quaintance played most recently at Saigon Heat in Vietnamese VBA league. In three ASEAN League games he averaged impressive 16.7ppg, 11.3rpg, 2.0apg, 1.0spg and 1.3bpg last season. Woods re-signs at Al-Hala !! - 12 days ago
Al-Hala (Premier League) confirmed in their roster experienced 39-year old Lebanese ex-international center Loren Woods (218-116kg-78, college: Arizona). He is a dual citizen owning also American passport. Woods played there last season. In 2001 he was drafted by Minnesota Timbervolves (NBA) in second round (46th overall).
