Augustine
Okosun
Sitra Club (Premier League) re-signed 30-year old American (has also Nigerian passport) center Augustine Okosun (210-109kg-86, college: Kaiser). He played there last season. The last summer Okosun was tested by Homenetmen (Division A) in Lebanese league.
In 2009 he was drafted by Austin Toros (D-League) in seventh round (102th overall).
The former Kaiser University (NAIA) staris in his eighth season in pro basketball.
Among other achievements Okosun won Dominican Republic La Romana League championship title in 2014. He received also Afrobasket.com All-Egyptian Superleague Honorable Mention award in 2015.
Okosun is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in eight different countries playing on five different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian, Latin American, African and of course North American leagues. Okosun has played previously professionally in China, Qatar (Al Ahli), Romania (Gaz Metan), Spain, Dominican Republic (Dosa, Pueblo Nuevo, Reales de La Vega and Juan Pablo Duarte), Egypt (Somouha), D-League (Austin Spurs) and IBL (Santa Barbara B. and Santa Monica J.).
Let's have closer look into His outlook: A strong defensive player and rebounder who has great length and will protect the basket. A good mobile shot-blocker who can defend multiple positions, 3-4-5. Augustine can score in the post and is a strong finisher. He sets great screens and is effective on the pick and roll, as he goes hard to the basket and will finish strongly. Augustine is an athletic big who runs the floor extremely well.
