Al Manama club announced through social media that they signed with 66 years old Portuguese coach Mario Leonel Palma . the current head coach of Portugal National Team will arrive to Bahrain and start preparations with the club for upcoming season once he finishes his obligations with national team.
Coach Mario coached African Club in Tunisia last season and he won the league title there, he had long experience in Africa specially in Angola he coached Angola National Team between 1999 until 2005 and he won FIBA African championship four times 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2005 beside his experience with Desportivo 1. De Agosto club there.
he also had experience in Asia when he coached Jordan National Team and helped them to reach world championship 2010, beside his experience with Zain local club there.

Experienced American-Lebanese Loren Woods (218-C-78) had a very impressive game in the last round for Al-Hala and that's him to receive a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 5. The 39-year old center had a double-double of 26 points and fourteen rebounds, while his team crushed Al-Bahrain (#11, 1-4) with 22-point margin 91-69. An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Manama. Leader Al-Muharraq faced 4th placed Al-Ittihad. Guests from Al Muharraq (5-0) smashed host Al-Ittihad (3-2) 104-82. Al Wasl Dubai (D1) landed 31-year old American (has also Bahraini passport) swingman Rashad Woods (197-100kg-86, college: Kent State). He played in the summer at Ostioneros de Guaymas in Mexican CIBACOPA. In 46 games he averaged impressive 18.0ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.7apg. Woods helped them to make it to the semifinals.
