Al Manama club announced through social media that they signed with 66 years old Portuguese coach Mario Leonel Palma . the current head coach of Portugal National Team will arrive to Bahrain and start preparations with the club for upcoming season once he finishes his obligations with national team.
Coach Mario coached African Club in Tunisia last season and he won the league title there, he had long experience in Africa specially in Angola he coached Angola National Team between 1999 until 2005 and he won FIBA African championship four times 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2005 beside his experience with Desportivo 1. De Agosto club there.
he also had experience in Asia when he coached Jordan National Team and helped them to reach world championship 2010, beside his experience with Zain local club there.

MANAMA punched their semi-final tickets last night while Al Ahli bowed out from further title contention in the 37th GCC Clubs Basketball Championship, being held in Bahrain. MANAMA bowed to Al Shabab of the UAE 93-102 last night to close out the group stage in the 37th GCC Clubs Basketball Championships being played in Bahrain.
