Bahraini basketball federation announced that the 30 years old experienced American player in Arab gulf area Rashad Woods (197-G/F-86, college: Kent St.) will be the new naturalized for Bahrain Basketball Senior national which will participate in Gulf Championship between 27 August until 3 September.
Mr Adel Al Asoumi the president of Bahrain basketball federation said after failed the negotiations with Sam Young and Austin Daye and many other names we decided to sign with Rashad Woods (197-G/F-86, college: Kent St.) for gulfchampionship.
Rashad played with 2 teams last season he played the first half of season with Qatar club in Qatar, the he signed with Ittihad Jeddah of Saudi Arabia and helped the team to win the league title. he has been playing in Arab Gulf Area since 2011.
He played in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Qatar beside his experience in Cyprus and Peru before.

Experienced American-Lebanese Loren Woods (218-C-78) had a very impressive game in the last round for Al-Hala and that's him to receive a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 5. The 39-year old center had a double-double of 26 points and fourteen rebounds, while his team crushed Al-Bahrain (#11, 1-4) with 22-point margin 91-69. An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Manama. Leader Al-Muharraq faced 4th placed Al-Ittihad. Guests from Al Muharraq (5-0) smashed host Al-Ittihad (3-2) 104-82. Rashad Woods (ex Guaymas) signs at Al Wasl - 11 days ago
Al Wasl Dubai (D1) landed 31-year old American (has also Bahraini passport) swingman Rashad Woods (197-100kg-86, college: Kent State). He played in the summer at Ostioneros de Guaymas in Mexican CIBACOPA. In 46 games he averaged impressive 18.0ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.7apg. Woods helped them to make it to the semifinals.
