There was a change at the Premier League leadership position after last games. The most important game of round 8 took place in Al Muharraq between two undefeated teams where Muharraq crushed Al Hala (7-1) 85-65 on Wednesday night. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Al Hala. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Undefeated Muharraq (8-0) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Defending champion Al Hala dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Al Ahli. They were replaced at the leadership position by Muharraq. Al Hala will play next round against strong Al Manama trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Muharraq will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Sitra on the road.
Very significant was Sitra's (#6) 66-62 road victory against 5th ranked Issa Town. Sitra (5-3) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hidd. Issa Town lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Sitra will play against league's leader Muharraq in Al Muharraq in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. There were no shocking results in the other games in round 8: Bahrain Club lost to Hidd on the opponent's court 55-62. Nuwaidrat unfortunately lost to Al Ahli in a home game 63-75. Al Manama rolled over Al Ittihad on the road 84-59.
