Bahrain U18 - Mongolia U18 95:74

Bahrain registered the first win at the U18 Asia Championship in Ulaanbaatar. They overcame hosting Mongolia in Group C. Mahamed Naser (191-F-97) came up with 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners.
The hosts started the game aggressively. Mongolia dominated in the opening quarter posting a 20:10 lead after ten minutes. Bahrain managed to narrow the gap in the second quarter. The visitors got within a single point at the interval 37:38. Bahrain pulled ahead in the third quarter. They fired 30 points to take a 67:54 lead at the final intermission. Mongolia ran out of steam in the fourth term and could not challenge the deficit in the final minutes. Ali Melad (171-F-94) finished with 18 points, while Jasim Abul (167-PG-94) and Mohammed Buallay (185-F-95) accounted for 10 points each for the winners. Likhamjav answered with 21 points for Mongolia. Chinzorig netted 18 points and collected 9 rebounds in defeat.

Defending champion Al Manama (Premier League) agreed terms with 32-year old Nigerian forward Ndudi Ebi (206-105kg-84). He played last season at Auxilium Torino in Italian Serie A. In 28 games he had 9.4ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.3spg and 1.3bpg. The previous (14-15) season Ebi played at Roma Virtus (also in Serie A) where in 15 games he recorded 9.9ppg, 5.4rpg, 1.1spg and 1.4bpg. Al Muharraq (Premier League) tabbed 27-year old American center Tyran Walker (213-109kg-89, college: Wake Forest). He played most recently at Iowa Energy (D-League) in the U.S. In 11 games he averaged 5.5ppg, 8.0rpg and 1.9bpg last season. Walker also played that season for AZS Koszalin in TBL where in 14 games he had 3.1ppg, 4.6rpg and 1.8bpg. Among other achievements his team won French Supercup in 2013. Bahrain win GCC basketball crown - 10 days ago

Bahrain claimed the fifth GCC Basketball U-15 Championship after defeating Qatar 80-54 on the last day of the tournament in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, yesterday. The scores of the four quarters were 20-7 (Bahrain), 20-13 (Bahrain), 23-18 (Bahrain) and 17-16 (Bahrain).
