Hong Kong - North Korea 71-78
HONG KONG lost to NORTH KOREA 71:78 at the start of Asian Games as the latter clinched appearance in Group E. Pak Un Chol stepped up with 19 points and Pak Myong Jin followed him with 18. Liang Man Hung (173-G-86) responded with 12 points in the losing effort.

Group B
Philippines - Kuwait 76-69
PHILIPPINES rolled over KUWAIT 76:69 at the Men's Qualifying Round Group B Game 2. Marcio Lassiter (188-G-87, college: Cal.St. Fullerton) top-scored for the winners with 16 points, while Baracael Mac netted 12. Albaloushi Ahmad replied with 21 points in the losing case.

Group C
Turkmenistan - Mongolia 85-90
MONGOLIA grabbed 90:85 over TURKMENISTAN and will start their Preliminary Round on November 16th. Sedbazar Shinen (191-F-81) paced all the winners with 22 points and 9 rebounds, whilst Ganbaatar Ikhbayar scored 15. Pashkov Aleksandr ended up with 25 points in defeat, while Bayriyev Toyli notched 20.

Afghanistan - India 76-83
INDIA won the last game of the Men's Qualifying Round Group D as they rolled over AFGHANISTAN 83:76. Japdeep Singh (199-C-86) paced all the winners with 22 points and Rai Trideep netted 18. Mojaddidi Safi replied with 25 points in the losing effort.

Defending champion South Korea breezed past Mongolia 108-73 for its second straight victory in men's basketball at the Asian Games on Thursday. In the preliminary round of the Asian Games basketball, Chinese Taipei bounced back and defeated Japan, 71-65, to claim an important victory in Group C.
