China U16 - Jordan U16 117:44

Chinese U16 selection recorded the second straight victory at the Asia Championship in Malaysia. China thrashed Jordan to stay on top of Group A. Shi Hongfei (180-G-93) knocked down 16 points to pace China.
China earned a 21-point lead after ten minutes of action. They dominated the reminder of the contest and posted a well-deserved victory at the end.
Ailun Guo notched 15 points for China. Malek Kanaan answered with 17 points for Jordan as they slipped at 1-1 record.

India U16 - Saudi Arabia U16 55:41
India claimed the first win at the U16 Asia Championship. They prevailed against Saudi Arabia on the second day of action in preliminary A. Saudi Arabia suffered the second straight defeat and remained at the bottom of the table.
India played some first class defense in the first half. They limited Saudi Arabia to just 14 points and grabbed a 17-point advantage at halftime. Saudi Arabia improved their game after the main break but could not avoid the inevitability.
Ankit Panigrahi (185-C-93) scored 15 points and grabbed 10 boards for India. Shyam Sunder added 11 points for the winners. Nassir Abo Jalas had 14 points and 7 rebounds for Saudi Arabia in defeat.

Group B
Philippines U16 - Kazakhstan U16 76:50

Kiefer Ravena scored 23 points to lead Philippines past Kazakhstan at the U16 Asia Championship. Philippines registered the second straight win, while Kazakhstan fell at 1-1 record in Group B.
Philippines dominated throughout the first half. They piled up an 11-point lead at halftime. Kazakhstan tried hard but failed to threaten the margin after the main break. Philippines rolled to the win and climbed on top of the ladder in the pool.
Von Pessumal had 12 points in the winning case. Alexey Kurochka knocked down 16 points for Kazakhstan. Alexandr Zhigulin (202-F-94) netted 11 points and collected 13 boards in the loss.

Bahrain U16 - Japan U16 85:84
Bahrain celebrated the first win at the U16 Asia Championship in Johor Bahru. They narrowly outscored Japan in Group B. Japan suffered the second straight loss and slid at the bottom of the standings.
Japan enjoyed a confident start to the game. They piled up an 11-point lead at halftime. Japan maintained the tempo in the third quarter. They earned a comfortable 14-point advantage before the fourth stanza. Bahrain found the right rhythm in the fourth term. They exploded with 31 points and snatched a tough win at the end.
Ali Ahmed Jamal was pivotal with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the win. Sayed Hasan Ali added 18 points for Bahrain. Tsukasa Tano answered with 19 points for Japan. Taiki Uehara finished with 18 points in the losing effort. Bahrain will next take on Philippines, while Japan will test Kazakhstan.

Group C
South Korea U16 - Kuwait U16 91:50

South Korean U16 selection enjoyed the second win at the Asia Championship in Malaysia. They prevailed against Kuwait counterparts in Group C action. Huiwon Han knocked down 17 points to lead the charge. Hyeongjun Kim added 15 points in the winning effort.
Korea stunned their opponents in the opening frame. They won it 27:10 and maintained a flying tempo in the next period. Korea poured in 31 points in the next period leaving Kuwait behind by 40 points. Korea did not look back in the second half and recorded the second straight victory.
Hussain Shuaib had 16 points for Kuwait. Abdulrahman Alshammari finished with 14 points and 10 boards in defeat.

South Korea: Huiwon Han 17, Hyeongjun Kim 15

Syria U16 - Singapore U16 71:58
Syria remained on top of Group C at the Asia Championship in Malaysia. They defeated Singapore to improve at 2-0 record. Muhammad Otabachi scored 13 points and pulled down 12 boards to lead Syria.
Syria grabbed a 29:22 lead after two quarters of action. They maintained the advantage in the second half and recorded the consecutive success at the tournament. Ockba Baghajati and Aghyad Rahal netted 9 points each for Syria. Larry Hua Sen responded with game-high 36 points for Singapore.

Group D
Taiwan U16 Malaysia U16 114:78

Taiwan shocked hosting Malaysia at the U16 Asia Championship. Ying-Chun Chen tallied 24 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists to pace Taiwan to the initial win at the tournament. Taiwan silenced the home team with a 28:8 run in the opening quarter. Malaysia recovered in the second period and won it by one point. But Taiwan exploded with 65 points in the second half to stun the hosts.
Jen-Chieh Wang knocked down 19 points for Taiwan. Kuan-Chuan Chen added 18 points in the victory. Shee Weng Loh notched 34 points and 12 boards for Malaysia.

Iran U16 - Thailand U16 71:36
Iran claimed the second consecutive win at the U16 Asia Championship. Mirmohammad Fattahi tallied 20 points and 15 boards to lead the Iranian selection past Thailand. Soheil Yousefi added 20 points in the victory.
Iran looked better from start to finish. They built a 26:16 advantage at halftime and eased to the victory in the second half.
Paramet Kongsang nailed 9 points for Thailand. Sarun Buranachan had 8 points in defeat.

FINAL China - Australia 67-91 Australia celebrate Gold in Foshan. They knocked down hosting China in the title game tonight. Luke Travers (197-G-01) provided 22 points and 8 rebounds for the champions. Wani Swaka (198-F-01) tossed in 21 points in the win. China posted a 23:17 lead after ten minutes.
