Al Rayyan Doha (D1) agreed terms with 32-year old American forward Brandon Bowman (206-84, college: Georgetown). He played last season at Petrolina AEK Larnaca in Cypriot Division A. In 20 games he had very impressive stats: 15.3ppg, 6.9rpg, 1.9apg and 1.1spg. Bowman helped them to win the league title and they also made it to the Cup final. Quite impressive season as he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Cyprus League Power Forward of the Year, Eurobasket.com All-Cyprus League Rookie of the Year and named to 1st Team. Bowman also played 8 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he recorded 11.6ppg, 6.3rpg, 1.9apg and 1.1spg.
The previous (2015) summer Bowman played at Manati in BSN. In 5 games he averaged 13.6ppg and 5.4rpg in 2015 season.
In 2006 Bowman was drafted by Yakama Sun Kings (CBA) in third round (30th overall).
He attended Georgetown University and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball.
Bowman is quite experienced player. He has played in ten different countries on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia and of course North America). Bowman has played previously professionally in Bulgaria (Lukoil Academic Sofia), France (Le Mans), Germany (BBC Bayreuth and SC Rasta Vechta), Israel (Galil Gilboa and Maccabi Rishon), Italy, Korea (Samsung Thunders and Dongbu Promy), New Zealand (Saints), Puerto Rico, Serbia (Crvena Zvezda) and Turkey (Tofas).
He could be described: A very versatile player who can spend time in either forward slot. Good shooter and quick runner, can score in traffic or create his shot from the dribble. Goes well to the offensive rebounds, has a great leaping ability. Above all, he' s a very good defender on every kind of opponent, with a relentless mentality that makes him a very good player for the European leagues.
