Champville - Ahli 113:94 Champville recorded the second straight win at the Arab Club Championship. They breezed past Omani Ahli in Group B. Garnett Thompson (207-F/C-80, college: Providence) stepped up with 30 points and 8 boards to pace the Lebanese powerhouse. Champville had to overcome a resistant start from the Omani team early in the game. The Lebanese team posted a 28:20 lead after ten minutes. Champville limited their opponents to 10 points in the second term and stretched the margin to as many as 27 points at halftime 57:30. Champville dominated after the big break easily opening a 30+ advantage and cruised to the win at the end. Fadi Khatib (199-F-79) provided 29 points, while Jasmon Youngblood (195-G-84, college: Kent St.) contributed 12 points in the victory. Scott Thompson (213-F/C) responded with 30 points for Ahli.
Banijas - Karkh 79:80 Karkh earned the first win at the Arab Club Championship in UAE. They overcame hosting Banijas tonight to improve at 1-1 record in preliminary Group B. Banijas fell at 1-1 record after the defeat. The Iraqi team secured a narrow 17:16 lead after a close first quarter. But the hosts quickly spurred in front in the second term. They grabbed a 39:32 lead at the interval. Banijas remained in front throughout the third term. The UAE team entered the final period up by a single point. But led by Chudney Gray (188-G-78, agency: Promotex, college: St.John's) Karkh eked out an important victory at the end. Chudney Gray stepped up with 29 points to pace the charge. Norman Nolan (202-F/C-76, college: Virginia) had 22 points, while Ahmed Saad notched 11 points in the win. Darrel Pitterfield replied with 22 points and 9 rebounds for Banijas. Cyril Vakenda chipped in 19 points, while Ibrahim Khalfan (181-F-79) had 13 points in the loss.

Ahli Benghazi wins Arabian Clubs Basketball Championship 2012 with 5 participating teams. The team from Libya won all four games and clinched the title.
In Day 1 Ahli Benghazi overcame Al Shorta from Iraq 84:71. The latter grabbed 19-16 after the first period but the favorites took 39:30 halftime advantage. Moreover they increased to 62:43 after three quarters and won the game by 13 points.

The team from Libya won the first period 21-9 and then did not allow the opponents to score in the second frame at all. They had 64:23 at the end of the third quarter and celebrated the easy win. In Day 3 Ahli Benghazi thumb C.A.Bizerte from Tunisia 85:72. Ahli started with 29-11 but could not keep the big lead. They led 70:47 with 10 minutes remaining, but allowed the team from Tunisia to cut it to 13. In the last day of the competition Ahli Benghazi overcame J.S.Kairaoun from Tunisia 76:63. The squad from Libya started with 19-11 lead and then had 38:26 at the halftime. J.S.Kairaoun reduced to 5 points entering the last period, but could not win the game.

Initially scheduled between the 15th and the 27th of May in Kuwait, the 25th edition of the Arabic clubs basketball championship has been postponed to September.

The information has been released by the international basketball federation (FIBA) as Kuwait is banned from organizing or taking part in international competitions. During talks with the Arabic Basketball Union, it was decided that the championship will begin after sports regulations in Kuwait have been modified in relation with international rules. Sharjah made history tonight. They claimed their first ever Arab Club Championship title. Sharjah toppled ASS Sale for the crown in Abu Dhabi. Radhouane Slimane (205-C-80) stepped up with 31 points to pace the UAE team to the victory.

The Moroccan team stiffened their defence and cut the distance to 5 points with one quarter remaining. ASS Sale got within three points in the final term but Sharjah survived the challenge and sealed the winning outcome at the end. Rashed Alzaabi (190-F-88) provided 22 points in the win. Cory Bradford (191-G-78, agency: Edge Sports, college: Illinois) finished with 13 points for the champions. Abdelhakim Zouita (201-F-86) answered with 20 points for ASS Sale.
