Justin Brownlee (197-F-88, college: St.John's) took over during a crucial time to lead Tanduay Alab Pilipinas to victory over the Singapore Slingers, 89-80, in overtime last January 7 at the OCBC Arena in Singapore.

It was the third straight win for Alab after dropping their first three games and moved to fourth place in the current standings in the ongoing ASEAN Basketball League (ABL).

The Slingers dropped to a 3-5 win-loss record.

Renaldo Balkman (203-F-84, college: S.Carolina, agency: Aspire Sports) scored 26 points to pace Alab.

Brownlee finished with 17 points none more important than the last four points scored in back-to-back baskets to start the extra period.

The Philippine-based squad led as much as 10 points in the first half but the Slingers led by Hanbin Ng (193-G/F-89) sparked a comeback to tie the game at 36 during halftime.

Bobby Ray Parks (193-G-93) added 11 points and seven rebounds.

New acquisition Christien Charles (216-F/C-81, college: Villanova) debuted with 22 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks while former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) player AJ Mandani added 13 markers for Singapore in a losing effort.

The two teams will meet again in January 10 at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan City, Philippines.

SAMUEL DEGUARA Maltese Samuel Deguara (223-C-91) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's leader Mono Vampire and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 15. There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in ASEAN League. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. Round 15 in ASEAN League means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Nanhai where host Chinese Chongson (12-5) beat league's leader Hong Kong Hong Kong ELL (12-5) 87-76 on Tuesday evening. ChongSon routs Formosa to tighten grip on ABL lead - 4 days ago
Chongson KungFu cruised to its fifth straight victory after clobbering the Formosa Dreamers, 105-83, on Saturday in the Asean Basketball League at the Changhua Stadium in Taiwan.
