Marshall
American Guard Marcus Marshall (190-G-94) put on an amazing game in the last round for KL Dragons, receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 23-year old player was the main contributor (60 points, nine rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Mono Vampire (#3, 2-1) 116-112. Thanks to this victory KL Dragons moved-up to the 5th position in ASEAN League. KL Dragons is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-2 record. In the team's last game Marshall had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be KL Dragons' top player in his first season with the team. Former The University of Nevada star has very solid stats this year. Marshall is league's best scorer averaging so far 38.0ppg. Marshall is in league's top in assists (7th best: 5.0apg).

The second best player in last round's games was 28-year old American Reginald Johnson (208-C-89) of Mono Vampire. Johnson had a very good evening with a double-double of 35 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as Mono Vampire was edged by KL Dragons (1-2) 116-112. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Johnson is well-known at Mono Vampire and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.3ppg (#4). He also registered 15.3 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Brian Williams (208-C-87) of CLS Knights (#6). Williams showcased his all-around game by recording 14 points, 32 rebounds (!!!) and six assists in the last round. Despite Williams' great performance CLS Knights lost 78-87 to Hong Kong ELL (#2, 2-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. CLS Knights can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-3 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Williams he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Williams has individually a great season in ASEAN League. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 16.3rpg (#1 in league) and assists with 5.0apg (6th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Justin Howard (209-C-81) of Chongson - 28 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Xavier Alexander (198-G-88) of Singapore S. - 26 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists
6. Anthony Tucker (193-G-89) of Chongson - 18 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists
7. Ryan Wright (206-C/F-87) of Singapore S. - 24 points and 18 rebounds
8. Curtis Washington (208-F-91) of KL Dragons - 29 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Reggie Okosa (207-C-80) of Alab Pilipinas - 24 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Kailun Guo (188-G-95) of Chongson - 19 points and 7 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
