David Palmer signs at Saigon Heat - Dec 25, 2012

Saigon Heat (ASEAN League) landed 26-year old American power forward David Palmer (206-113kg-86, college: N.Kentucky). Palmer managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year (!!!). He played in the summer at Sichuan in Chinese NBL league. In 5 games he averaged impressive 36.8ppg and 14.6rpg. He also played at Tennessee Dragons in UBA that season. In two games last season he had very impressive stats: 18.0ppg, 14.0rpg, 4.5apg and 1.0spg. The other team Palmer played that season for was Bighorns in D-League. In 18 games he had 4.9ppg and 3.8rpg. Another team he played that season for was Bakersfield Jam in D-League. In 25 games he had 8.8ppg and 6.7rpg.
His team made it to the UBA Semifinals.
Palmer received USBasket.com All-UBA Honorable Mention award in 2012.
The previous (10-11) season Palmer played at Polonia W-wa in Polish 3Liga. In 21 games that year he had 7.6ppg and 6.0rpg.
Last year (three years after he left the college) Palmer was drafted by Bakersfield Jam (D-League) in fourth round (9th overall).
The former Northern Kentucky University standoutis in his fifth season in pro basketball.

Experienced American Marcus Elliott (191-G-84) had an amazing evening in the last round for Hong Kong ELL and that's him to receive a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 6. The 32-year old guard had a double-double of 31 points and ten rebounds, while his team crushed KL Dragons (#5, 1-5) with 17-point margin 87-70. There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games. Taiwanese Kaohsiung recorded the loss on the court of sixth ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Saigon Heat 99-85. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 99-85. American Center Justin Howard (208-C-81) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Singapore S., receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 5.
