Zob Ahan made the first step towards reaching the WABA League semifinals. They defeated Moutahed in Lebanon to take 1-0 lead in the best-of-three quarterfinal series. Loren Woods (218-C-78, college: Arizona) accounted for 29 points, 15 boards and 3 assists to lead the effort. He also drained a three-pointer late in the game that sealed the win for Zob Ahan.
